How yoga helps your child find increased courage and bravery
It was so much fun sharing yoga and art with so many children these school holidays;
Some of whom were brand new to yoga!
There were moments of challenge…
There were some fears …
“I can’t do that.”
“No way!”
“That’s way too hard!”
Then with positive encouragement and a brave mindset…
We had lift off.
Children were flying in crow pose and doing Acro Yoga.
And then… the magic moment…
The children didn’t want to stop!
One boy told us his favourite part was doing crow pose.
Why?…
“It was difficult and a challenge and it makes me want to do it more.”
The truth is none of us are born ‘successful.’
Our success and achievements come from believing in ourselves, and
Doing things that are brave…
Doing the things that challenge us…
And failing at challenging things.
Without challenge, there is no change.
If you ask brave people, they’ll most likely tell you that they don’t always feel brave on the inside…
Brave people often feel frightened AND brave at the same time
They face the fear and do it anyway.
That is what we call courage.
Yoga has a magic way of igniting courage and bravery in children.
Sometimes we want to avoid things that feel new or challenging.
But, in a safe and supportive environment…
With a teacher who inspires us and believes in us,
Doing new things helps us grow.
We were all born to fly.
To be free of our fears; and
to be the brightest version of ourselves.
True bravery isn’t feeling no fear, it’s being afraid and moving forward anyway.
